Tofu Stir Fry


If you are looking for a tofu recipe, you came to the right place! This tofu stir fry recipe is easy to make, delicious, totally vegan, gluten free and even pretty healthy. All you need is a few of your favorite veggies, some tofu and few minutes of work and got a vegan dinner or lunch.

For the stir fry:

  • 1-14oz (400g) Extra-firm tofu
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder (optional)
  • 2-3 Vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic, crushed
  • 1 tablespoon Grated ginger
  • 1 head Broccoli, cut into small florets
  • 1 cup (150g) Green been
  • 2-3 Green onions
  • 1/2 Red chili, sliced (optional)
  • Toasted sesame seeds

For the sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 1/3 cup (80ml) Soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) Water
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1-2 tablespoon brown sugar


  1. Wrap block of tofu with paper towels and pat dry, pressing down on the tofu to squeeze out excess moisture. Cut the tofu into small cubes. Set aside.
  2. Make the sauce: in a small bowl whisk sesame oil, soy sauce, water, cornstarch and sugar. Set aside.
    In a small bowl place cubed tofu, dust with cornstarch and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Toss until well coated. Heat 1-2 tablespoons of oil in a large pan or wok, add the tofu and fry until golden on all sides, about 6-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. In the same pan/wok heat 1-2 tablespoons of oil, add grated ginger and garlic, fry for 1 minute. Add in beans, broccoli and stir fry until tender, about 4-5 minutes. Add the tofu, the sauce and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes. Add sliced chili (optional) and green onion, stir fry for 1 minute. Turn the heat off and sprinkle toasted sesame seeds.
