If you are looking for a tofu recipe, you came to the right place! This tofu stir fry recipe is easy to make, delicious, totally vegan, gluten free and even pretty healthy. All you need is a few of your favorite veggies, some tofu and few minutes of work and got a vegan dinner or lunch.
For the stir fry:
- 1-14oz (400g) Extra-firm tofu
- 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
- Black pepper to taste
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder (optional)
- 2-3 Vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon Garlic, crushed
- 1 tablespoon Grated ginger
- 1 head Broccoli, cut into small florets
- 1 cup (150g) Green been
- 2-3 Green onions
- 1/2 Red chili, sliced (optional)
- Toasted sesame seeds
For the sauce:
- 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
- 1/3 cup (80ml) Soy sauce
- 1/4 cup (60ml) Water
- 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
- 1-2 tablespoon brown sugar
Instructions
- Wrap block of tofu with paper towels and pat dry, pressing down on the tofu to squeeze out excess moisture. Cut the tofu into small cubes. Set aside.
- Make the sauce: in a small bowl whisk sesame oil, soy sauce, water, cornstarch and sugar. Set aside.
In a small bowl place cubed tofu, dust with cornstarch and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Toss until well coated. Heat 1-2 tablespoons of oil in a large pan or wok, add the tofu and fry until golden on all sides, about 6-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside. - In the same pan/wok heat 1-2 tablespoons of oil, add grated ginger and garlic, fry for 1 minute. Add in beans, broccoli and stir fry until tender, about 4-5 minutes. Add the tofu, the sauce and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes. Add sliced chili (optional) and green onion, stir fry for 1 minute. Turn the heat off and sprinkle toasted sesame seeds.
