Fragrant on the outside and soft on the inside, they are truly tasty and irresistible morsels! I opted for the variant with fresh cream instead of butter and the result was wonderful!
Ingredients
- 250 g flour
- 1 egg
- 100 ml fresh cream
- 50 g sugar
- 1/2 sachet of baking powder
- grated lemon zest (optional)
- 500 ml sunflower or peanut oil for frying
Instructions
- Beat the egg into the liquid cream.
- Add the sifted baking powder and sugar to the flour.
- Add the egg with the cream to the flour and knead either with a mixer or by hand until you obtain a smooth dough.
- Make balls of about 15 g each.
- Heat the oil, it must reach a temperature of 170Β°. Only in this way will you obtain fritters that are golden brown at the right point and cooked inside.
- As soon as the oil is hot, dip a few pieces at a time, you can help yourself with a slotted spoon to transfer them into the oil; turn the fritters often with a slotted spoon to help them cook evenly.
- Drain your fritters and transfer them to a sheet of absorbent paper to eliminate the excess oil. In the meantime, place the sugar in a bowl and when the fritterss are still hot, roll them in the sugar.
- Continue in this way for the others and serve your fritters!
