Fragrant on the outside and soft on the inside, they are truly tasty and irresistible morsels! I opted for the variant with fresh cream instead of butter and the result was wonderful!

Ingredients

  • 250 g flour
  • 1 egg
  • 100 ml fresh cream
  • 50 g sugar
  • 1/2 sachet of baking powder
  • grated lemon zest (optional)
  • 500 ml sunflower or peanut oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Beat the egg into the liquid cream.
  2. Add the sifted baking powder and sugar to the flour.
  3. Add the egg with the cream to the flour and knead either with a mixer or by hand until you obtain a smooth dough.
  4. Make balls of about 15 g each.
  5. Heat the oil, it must reach a temperature of 170°. Only in this way will you obtain fritters that are golden brown at the right point and cooked inside.
  6. As soon as the oil is hot, dip a few pieces at a time, you can help yourself with a slotted spoon to transfer them into the oil; turn the fritters often with a slotted spoon to help them cook evenly.
  7. Drain your fritters and transfer them to a sheet of absorbent paper to eliminate the excess oil. In the meantime, place the sugar in a bowl and when the fritterss are still hot, roll them in the sugar.
  8. Continue in this way for the others and serve your fritters!
