Chocolate chip muffins are small, single-serving sweets that resemble cakes and are served in classic paper cups. Unlike cupcakes , which are often filled with frosting and creams, muffins have a more compact and dry dough and are larger in size. Their surface has a raised dome, which is why these sweets are not filled.

The dry and compact dough, unlike the softer and fluffier cupcakes, is due to the fact that in the process the liquid ingredients are mixed first and then the dry ones.

These irresistible treats combine the softness of the dough with the grit and crunchiness of the chocolate chips, which are generously distributed in the dough, making these muffins truly delicious.

Ingredients

  • 125 g flour
  • 2 Medium eggs at room temperature
  • 70 g Butter at room temperature
  • 10 g Fresh milk
  • 30 g Chocolate chips
  • 60 g Sugar
  • 5 g Baking powder
  • 1 pinch Fine salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 10 g Chocolate chips to decorate

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, place the butter, sugar and vanilla extract; beat the ingredients with an electric mixer until you obtain a soft and smooth cream. Add the eggs one at a time, always beating, and continue for another 5 minutes.
  2. Place a sieve or fine mesh strainer over the bowl and pour in the flour, sifting it well, mix everything together and add the milk and salt.
  3. Mix the ingredients with a wooden spoon or a spatula and, finally, add the chocolate chips. Put the mixture in a pastry bag, this way you will work without waste and make less mess.
  4. Place 6 cardboard paper cups inside the appropriate muffin mold and fill them dividing the mixture into equal parts.
  5. Sprinkle the surface of the muffins with more chocolate chips and bake them in a static oven preheated to 175° for about 30 minutes. Before taking them out of the oven, do the toothpick test to check if they are cooked. Your muffins are ready!
