Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour

Butter Glaze

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm milk and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the foamy yeast mixture, granulated sugar, melted butter, salt, egg, and 2 cups of flour. Mix until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the remaining 2 cups of flour, one cup at a time, mixing after each addition. The dough will be slightly sticky.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into small portions. Shape each portion into a ball and place them on a greased baking pan, leaving a little space between each roll.
  7. Cover the rolls with a damp cloth and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  9. Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until they are golden brown on top.
  10. As soon as the rolls come out of the oven, brush them with melted butter to give them a glossy finish.
  11. Serve the Texas Roadhouse Rolls warm and enjoy the taste of tradition in every bite.
