Here’s a classic Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe that’s soft, chewy, and packed with rich peanut butter flavor and melty chocolate chips. These cookies are easy to make and absolutely irresistible!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (or milk chocolate chips)
  • Optional: 1/4 cup chopped peanuts for extra crunch

Instructions

1. Preheat and Prepare:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.

2. Make the Dough:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips (and chopped peanuts, if using).

3. Scoop and Bake:

  1. Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to portion out the dough into 1.5-inch balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  2. Gently press down on each dough ball to slightly flatten it (these cookies don’t spread much).
  3. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers are still soft.
  4. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tips for Success:

  • Use creamy peanut butter for a smooth texture or chunky peanut butter for extra crunch.
  • Don’t overbake the cookies—they’ll continue to set as they cool, so take them out when the edges are just golden.
  • For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of cinnamon or a handful of oats to the dough.
  • Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or freeze for longer storage.

Enjoy these Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies with a glass of milk for the ultimate treat!
