Here’s a delicious recipe for Homemade Moose Tracks Ice Cream! This creamy, no-churn ice cream is packed with swirls of fudge and chunks of peanut butter cups, just like the classic favorite. No ice cream maker required!

Ingredients

For the Ice Cream Base:

  • 2 cups heavy cream, cold
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Mix-Ins:

  • 1/2 cup peanut butter cups (like mini Reese’s), chopped
  • 1/2 cup fudge sauce (store-bought or homemade, recipe below)

For the Homemade Fudge Sauce (Optional):

  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Fudge Sauce (Optional)

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the chocolate chips, heavy cream, butter, and sugar.
  2. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until the chocolate and butter are melted and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Let the fudge sauce cool to room temperature before using. It will thicken as it cools.

Step 2: Prepare the Ice Cream Base

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whip the cold heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract.
  3. Gently fold the whipped cream into the sweetened condensed milk mixture until fully combined. Be careful not to deflate the whipped cream.

Step 3: Add the Mix-Ins

  1. Gently fold in the chopped peanut butter cups.
  2. Drizzle about half of the fudge sauce over the ice cream base and gently swirl it in with a spatula or knife (don’t overmix—you want distinct swirls of fudge).

Step 4: Freeze the Ice Cream

  1. Pour the ice cream mixture into a loaf pan or airtight container.
  2. Drizzle the remaining fudge sauce on top and swirl it gently with a knife.
  3. Cover the container with plastic wrap or a lid and freeze for at least 6 hours, or until firm.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy!

  1. Let the ice cream sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes to soften slightly before scooping.
  2. Serve with extra peanut butter cups or fudge sauce, if desired.

Tips:

  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate or milk chocolate fudge sauce.
  • Customize with other mix-ins like crushed cookies, nuts, or caramel swirls.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.

This Homemade Moose Tracks Ice Cream is creamy, dreamy, and packed with all the delicious flavors you love!
