Orange Cake


You can make this sweet, delicious and moist Portuguese orange cake in about 50 minutes, enjoy it.


  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 1/4 cups orange juice or the zest of oranges mixed with juice
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder


  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
  2. Grease a 9-inch cake pan with butter or oil and dust it with a little flour.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until the mixture becomes light in color and creamy in texture.
  4. Add the vegetable oil and orange juice, then mix well.
  5. In another bowl, sift the flour and baking powder.
  6. Gradually add the flour to the egg mixture, gently folding until the ingredients are well combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the cake pan.
  8. Bake the cake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool completely before cutting and serving.
