Cinnamon Swirl Donut Bread
A heavenly cross between cinnamon rolls and fluffy donuts—perfect with coffee!

Ingredients

For the Bread:

  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup (240ml) milk
  • ¼ cup (60g) melted butter
  • 1½ tsp vanilla extract

For the Cinnamon Swirl:

  • ⅓ cup (65g) brown sugar
  • 1½ tbsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (for brushing)

For the Glaze (Optional):

  • ½ cup (60g) powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Prep & Mix Batter

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed (don’t overmix—small lumps are fine).

2. Layer the Swirl

  1. Pour half the batter into the loaf pan.
  2. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle half over the batter.
  3. Repeat with remaining batter and cinnamon sugar.
  4. Use a knife to swirl gently (don’t overmix!).

3. Bake & Glaze

  1. Bake for 45–55 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
  3. Optional glaze: Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla, then drizzle over warm bread.

✔ Swirl lightly—just 2–3 passes with a knife to keep defined layers.
✔ Serve warm for melty cinnamon goodness!
