Bakery style tea cake

This soft and fluffy vanilla flavoured cake tastes best with hot tea in the evening.

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • ¾ cup of sugar
  • ¼ cup + 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Slowly add sugar while beating the eggs
  2. Into it add the melted butter and vanilla essence
  3. Mix well
  4. Sift the all-purpose flour and baking powder 
  5. Add the dry ingredients into the egg mixture
  6. Add 2 tbsp milk as well
  7. Fold well into a soft batter
  8. Pour the batter into a cake tin that is greased with butter
  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes at 170 degree Celsius
  10. Allow the cake to rest for 5 minutes before taking it.
