Ingredients

For the Filling:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground sausage (mild or spicy)
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 can (10 oz) Rotel tomatoes, drained
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For the Rolls:

  • 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough

Optional Toppings:

  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Cook the Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.
  2. Prepare the Filling: In a large bowl, combine the cooked sausage, cream cheese, drained Rotel tomatoes, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Assemble the Rolls:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles.
    • Spoon about 1-2 tablespoons of the sausage mixture onto the wide end of each triangle.
    • Roll up the dough, starting from the wide end, and place the rolls seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Bake: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  5. Optional Toppings: Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and chopped green onions while the rolls are still warm.
  6. Serve: Let the rolls cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
