Here’s a delicious recipe for soft and fluffy donuts filled with Nutella! These homemade donuts are light, airy, and perfect for satisfying your sweet cravings.
Ingredients:
For the Dough:
- 2 ½ cups (300g) all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
- 1 packet (7g) instant yeast (or 2 ¼ tsp)
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup (120ml) warm milk
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- ¼ cup (60g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For Frying:
- Vegetable oil (for deep frying)
For Filling & Topping:
- ½ cup Nutella (or more, as needed)
- Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Dough:
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk warm milk, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
- Add the softened butter and knead for 8–10 minutes (by hand or with a stand mixer) until smooth and elastic. The dough should be slightly sticky but soft.
- Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise for 1–2 hours (or until doubled in size).
2. Shape & Second Rise:
- Punch down the dough and roll it out to ½-inch (1.2 cm) thickness.
- Use a round cutter (3-inch/7.5 cm) to cut out donuts.
- Place them on a floured tray, cover, and let rise for 30–45 minutes until puffy.
3. Fry the Donuts:
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the donuts 2 at a time for 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels and let cool slightly.
4. Fill with Nutella:
- Use a piping bag with a narrow tip to inject Nutella into the center of each donut.
- Dust with powdered sugar (optional) and enjoy warm!
Tips for Perfect Donuts:
✔ Don’t overheat the milk—it should be warm (not hot) to avoid killing the yeast.
✔ Knead well for a soft, airy texture.
✔ Fry at the right temperature—too hot = burnt outside, too cool = greasy donuts.
These Nutella-filled donuts are best enjoyed fresh, but you can store them in an airtight container for 1–2 days (reheat slightly for extra softness).
